After their last performance made the Chicago Sun-Times “Best Classical Performances of 2014″ list, the New Millennium Orchestra returns to Thalia Hall with a diverse program alongside singer/songwriter OLGA BELL. Alternating between sets showcasing the virtuosity of the orchestra and Bell’s mesmerizing original songs, the evening will feature performances of Schubert’s 5th Symphony, Nico Muhly’s concerto for electric violin and orchestra featuring the NMO’s own Chuck Bontrager, the NMO alongside Olga Bell playing her original music, as well as Bell performing songs from her brand new EP, “Incitation”.

Described as occupying “some gnarly middle ground between Russian folk song, chamber music, and avant-garde rock music” (Pitchfork), Olga Bell is no stranger to collaborations with classical musicians. And with its reputation of genre-bending, innovative programming, the New Millennium Orchestra–led by music director Francesco Milioto–is the perfect match for Bell.

Come for the show but stay for the afterparty, where Olga Bell will be DJing from the stage once the concert hall is transformed into a dance floor! A cash bar will be open before, during, and after the performances.

Pricing: $22 advanced/$25 door, $250 for a VIP box (seats up to 6, includes champagne)
